Engineering Mechanics is an important technical basic course for the students of mechanical specialty and other related specialty. Its task is to provide the most basic mechanics theory and calculation method to solve the problem of static balance and the strength, stiffness and stability of the component in engineering. Its contents include two parts: the statics and the mechanics material. The statics includes the basic concepts of statics, the concurrent forces, the couple system, the general planar arbitrary force system, the general spatial force system and the statics topic, etc. The mechanics material includes the axial tension and compression, the torsion, the bending internal force, the bending stress, the bending deformation, the analysis for the state of stress, the strength in general state of stress and the stability of struts, etc. Through the study of this course, the students can master the basic knowledge and methods of the statics and the mechanics material.
